Luxury Camping & Whitewater Rafting Weekend Skills Course
Earn your Wilderness Life Support for the Medical Professional certification on our private 4 day whitewater rafting and luxury camping adventure!
Dates: May 6th-9th, 2024
This course is hosted during the 4 days before the conference. We will provide roundtrip transportation from Ashland to our basecamp on the California Salmon River, approximately 3 hrs from Ashland. You will arrive back on the Thursday, the 9th of May and start the conference on Friday morning.
Get Certified in Wilderness Life Support for the Medical Professional (formerly, AWLS). This course takes a deeper dive into wilderness medicine and outdoor skills. The hybrid format allows you to study topics ahead of time online and then arrive to the river ready for hands-on learning. This 4 day adventure includes 3 gourmet meals daily, 3 days of whitewater rafting and 3 nights at our private California Salmon river luxury tented basecamp with a wood-fired sauna and bar! Includes 24.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits! It is a perfect addition to the Global Medicine Conference to give you a full week of wilderness, travel and global health education.

Conference Hotel & Accommodations:
We have secured a special rate for rooms just for conference attendees at the historic Ashland Springs Hotel (our conference venue). Discounted rooms are limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Upon registration we will provide you with the booking discount information.
The closest airport is The Rogue Valley International Medford Airport in Medford (MFR). It is a small, friendly airport that is just 20 minutes away from Ashland.
You can also choose to fly into larger airports such as San Francisco and Portland and then drive the I-5 (about 5 1/2 hrs) to Ashland.
