PEOPLE & PLACE
The "Cal Salmon Experience"
The ultimate luxury, multi-sport adventure camp trip. Think comfortable, walk-in tents, gourmet riverside meals, fun and exciting whitewater, campfires under the stars, sauna, and hot showers… this trip is hard to beat! Nestled in a remote and pristine wild region in California’s northwest corner, the California Salmon River is hidden about halfway between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. The “Cal Salmon” combines beautiful, lush coastal scenery, an intimate, marble-smooth, granite inner gorge, a seemingly endless number of waterfalls cascading from above, emerald-green waters, a very comfortable pop-up base camp with hot showers, a wood-fired sauna, and unequaled class IV-V fun whitewater.

This course is a Wilderness Medicine and Whitewater Skills course. It is designed to provide individuals with a robust skillset in wilderness medicine and river safety. Participants will have the option to certify as an Advanced Wilderness Life Support provider, however, this course offers much more than the AWLS certification- it combings rafting, kayaking, swift water rescue skills, paddling skills, ropes and knots and even touches on some basic survival topics. Learn more about AWLS Certification HERE
It is an excellent course for anyone who loves to spend time in the outdoors.
Who is this Course For?
Physicians, Physician Assistances, Nurse Practitioners, RNs, Paramedics/EMTs
