AWLS Course San Diego

December 3rd & 4th, 2022

We are excited to announce our upcoming weekend ocean-based AWLS certification course in San Diego this December! Most of our AWLS course in 2023 are on longer adventures such as hiking tours in Patagonia and the Dolomites, or the Surf and Yoga trip in Costa Rica. We are thrilled to be able to offer a more local, weekend course for AWLS on the coast of sunny, Southern California!

Our course will be based at the famous Mission Bay Marina, we will have classroom lectures in the Marina Village and hands-on skills and scenarios out by the water.

Highlights:

  • Practice Wilderness Medicine Skills on the ocean shores of sunny San Diego
  • Learn from faculty who have extensive experience in Wilderness & Travel Medicine
  • Discover water safety & ocean rescue techniques as part of the AWLS course
  • Spend the late afternoon kayaking Mission Bay and learning hands-on, practical medical skills for the ocean and outdoors
  • Connect with other like-minded health professionals
  • Earn your Advanced Wilderness Life Support Certification
  • Obtain up to 24.5 hours of Category 1 CME
  • Optional Friday night Sunset Happy Hour/Meet & Greet Cruise!

Most of our AWLS courses are hosted as part of one of our adventure trips. We have learned that combining online lectures with hands-on skills in a wilderness setting provides a unique learning opportunity that is much more practical. In additional the wilderness medicine skills, participants will also learn a variety of outdoor skills pertinent to the ocean including learning tides, weather patterns, ropes, knots, paddle techniques and ocean rescue/survival.

A certification course designed for medical professionals who love adventuring in the outdoors, traveling and/or medical volunteering in remote settings. Learn hands-on medical skills that you can take anywhere in the world.
